04.06.07 | Two New Records Being Released This Month
I’m very excited to announce that two records that I have recorded recently are being released this month. Both records are with bands that happen to be two of my closest musical families.

Chris Pierce, WALKING ON THE EARTH will be available as a limited release through www.chrispierce.com or www.myspace.com/chrispierce. This is one of the best sounding projects I’ve ever been involved in. The record has an amazing vibe and powerful conviction.

The Benny Lackner Trio, PILGRIM will soon be available through Stray Dog Records. Check out the bands page at http://straydoghaus.com/index.php/StrayDog/artists/benny_lackner_trio/. I’m excited to have co produced this record along with Benny and Derek and even to have co-written a few of the tunes. We are very proud of this recording and excited to be working with our new partners in music business crime, Stray Dog Music. You’ll be hearing a lot more from us in the months to come.

Both of these records will be available for purchase very soon. Please do keep an eye out and buy as many copies as you responsibly can once they hit the shelves. As I’m getting ready to start touring with the Buble band again I’m really pleased that these records are coming out as a way of showing exactly what it is I’ve been doing with myself the past several months. So to all of you who I haven’t called or written back, this is why.

Sign Of The Times, the new Benny Lackner Trio record on Nagel Heyer records is available now. I am very proud of this record, and am very excited that it is finally available for sale. It features compositions by Prince, Bjork, Benny Lackner, Derek Neivergelt, myself, and a couple of standards. This trio has been playing together for almost 4 years and I personally feel that we have a unique sound that is a reflection of the variety of our influences, and also reflects our strong mutual friendship and even a bit of a sense of humor. I just started endorsing DW Drums! I'm very excited to be with DW Drums. I've been a fan of their drums since I was in High School when Carl Allen was playing DW with Benny Green and Jeff Hamilton was playing them with Ray Brown. A few years ago another recent hero of mine named Abe Laboriel started playing DW and when I heard the sound he was getting on those drums I knew I had to get my hands on some. DW is my first endorsement with a major drum company and i'm thrilled to be involved with such a great company!
