04.11.08 | Dan Froelke Hey Rob,
Very tasty playing! I've been listening to Buble' for years and always admired your playing...finally stumbled across your site. Nice job on all your work. I've been playing drums for about 40 years.....you are very rare. Outstanding.
03.19.08 | Jeff Patterson Robert,
I saw your show last week in nashville with Michael Buble and thought it was fantastic. I really really injoyed your playing. As a drummer I wasn't raised that knowledgable of Jazz/latin and big band styles of playing. The more I'm introduced to these different styles of playing, the more I love it. I have truely missed out for many years. Thanks for influedcing me. Have a great tour.
03.06.08 | terry vera I caught the MB show in Oklahoma City; i live in Dallas and drove up. I thought you did a great job. Your playing is very tasteful - you do not overplay - but I could tell you have excellent chops. What size is your bass drum? overall the drums and cymbals sound great.

02.26.08 | Laurie Jaeger Hello Rob,
You probably don't remember me, but I was in Tampa and Orlando this past weekend to see Buble and the band.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so generous with your time speaking to my husband and I and for allowing me to hug you for Daryl, although I would have to admit that it was really from me, too.
It is fascinating talking to you. You and the band make such a fabulous sound. It's amazing to see such young guys bringing back these songs. I never liked the standards, but Buble's spin on them with the wonderful arrangements changed all that. Plus, what Buble throws into the mix with pop songs that you play really blows us away.
I don't know how you feel about middle-aged women and men loving your music, as since you are all so young you are more attuned to those young women out there, but believe me when I say this....I think most of the fans are over 45.
Thank you also for recognizing us from the front row. When we gave you the thumbs up, we meant it more than you could know.
Once again, thank you for your kindness. Daryl said you are a sweetie, and you sure are. I hope to see you and the rest of the band and "what's his name" again soon.
I'm gonna check out some of your CDs.....
Best wishes,
Laurie
Ft. Myers, FL
02.18.08 | Rod Aloha Rob! Are you that fabulous drummer who performed with Michael Buble here in Maui on July 06? I enjoyed the drumming so much I was disapointed we did't bring our sons along to see such a gifted drummer. Mahalo, Rod
01.23.08 | Mary Van Demark (Kelly Thayer's mom) I was SO excited when Kel forwarded me your website....How cool is that! And Michael Buble is an all-time fav or Kel's sister, Jenny (remember us from Kingston?). SO proud of you! One of my favorite "shows" you did was your Sr year at KHS, directing your fellow percussionists in a for percussion-only piece...GREAT! then and now....I also used to look for you on Malcolm & Eddy. Would love to see you perform live again....please let us know when you'll be performing in the NYC area, ok? Take care :)
01.22.08 | Laurie Jaeger Dear Rob,
My husband and I are both 56 years old and we are in absolute awe of the fantastic sound you make along with the other 11 band members on Michael Buble's tours! It's absolutely incredible to listen to you both on CD and live in concert!
At my age, I should have grown up with the standards and loved them, but they were boring to be and put me to sleep. Sinatra fans would probably slap me silly, but I disliked his voice and really found him to be off key sometimes. I know this sounds appalling, but it's my opinion and my husband, Marc's, opinion, too.
Of course, along comes my discovey of Buble and the rest is history. My husband loves his music and your band as much as I do. It's so refreshing to see young guys performing these songs so well and reviving interest in them, or in my case just peaking my interest! LOL. You are all so talented!
We live in south Florida and are thrilled to be coming to your Tampa and Orlando concerts in February. Guess what? We got front row seats for both nights! Needless to say, we are very excited.
Since being so passionate about Buble's music, I've done research on several band members and am looking into buying CDs of your music. Your talent has enriched our lives so much, and that's what we plan to tell you in person if we are fortunate enough to run into you.
We are good friends of Daryl DiStefano in California, and our interest in this music rivals hers, but she has so much more knowledge than we do about it. I don't dare tell her that I can't stand Sinatra, as she'd slap me up! She says for us to be sure to say hi to you if we meet you in person. We've never met any of the band members nor been lucky enough to meet MIchael, but perhaps in Florida our luck will change or I'll win a Meet and Greet.
Our best wishes to you, and I am so much looking forward to those 2 concerts. We'll wave at you from the front row, even though you probably won't know who the heck we are. Just look for the couple in a trance by the fantastic music! LOL
I hope your concerts are going well in Canada. I'm an avid participant on the general Buble board and am keeping up with everything. From what I read, everything is an absolute smash.
Best wishes to you and thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with us,
Laurie
01.20.08 | Erin Rose Wow Rob, It is great to see how far you have come since the little performances I use to see you in while I was visiting Garrett Kabsef in Long Beach. You were an amazing player then and even better now. It is great to see how far Justin Ray has come too. Take Care!!
01.19.08 | Ray Brennen Robert,

Keep on hittin' and thanks mate!

12.14.07 | cohen jeremy Hello
My name is Jeremy Cohen, 27 years old amateur drummer living between France and Israel.
I am very sorry to disturb you, but i thought that you could maybe help me a little in my investigations or searches.
I would like to know what kind of electronics stuff and material should i use, in further to experiment this recent approach of drums, by mixing and combine electronics technologies with acoustic drumset.
Yes indeed, i saw on the web site ''www.drummerworld.com'' that more and more drummers are using informatics and electronics, playing on play backs, loops, samples, using samplors and groove machines (like roland SPD-S etc...).
I hope you can help me on that two main questions :
first thing : do you know where i can find some loops, songs (playbacks) ? Is there some internet sites where there is some ? CDs that i can buy ? Can you send me some if i pay for them ? I know that of course that there is logiciels of music creation (cakewalk, cubase etc...), but what about the playbacks we often heard (rock, jazz etc...)? As well samplors or grooves machines.
As you see i have that kind of questions, but of course you don't need to respond to all of them, but just to give me a view of what i should use in that configuration of playing. I've made my on searches but i wanted to took informations from the source, wich means international drummers that might be confronted at those configuration of playing.
To be more precise, i saw during my searches, that there were a lot of different machines but i don't know what is interesting to use for a drummer ? what are the important and basics electronics stuff i should have ? Computer or Groove box or samplor ? Sequencer ? Numeric little studio or/and studio pack or studio work station ? Analogic mixer ? Microphones for accoustic drumset ? Audio capture or midi and audio interface (box, table or cable) ? Extension cart (or plug ins) ? Analogic recorder ? Equalizer ? monitors and ear phones ? carts or sound moduls like there is in technologie COSM that are inside the modules of Rolland V-drum ? Audio capture (like in Edirol technologies from Roland) ? Producer or studio edition products like Sonar of Cakewalk or Drumatic Loops of Cakewalk products also (in Roland website) ?
I don't in wich compagny i have to surch exactly, because there is many technicals explication (wich is complicated to understand for me right now) and there is many stuff for different exploitation and musicians (DJ, guitarist...).
So I don't know how and where to begin in further be a ''modern drummer'', more modern in my approach ?
In parrallel of this i would like also catch me playing by video way in further to present me to the musicians i can meet in my progression as a musician.
So i hope that you have some few advices or any contacts of people that can explain and show me, in a very little and concise ''menu'' (with very little descriptions or advices), what to do ? Wich are the main different options for us, drummers ?
ps : sorry for that long mail but i wanted to be sure that you understand globaly my search.
Hope to see you soon in Israel or in Paris. Thank you very much, AND ALL THE BEST !!!

11.25.07 | Dave Flemming Hi Rob,
Thought I would drop you another line as you are in the UK at the moment with the Buble Boys. Saw the Brighton Centre gig on Friday 23/11/07 and it was superb. Michael was on top form and all the boys seemed to enjoy the occassion.
I meant to ask last time I wrote, although your tour with Michael, why does Vinnie Colaiuta do nearly all the session work? It would be nice to see your credits on a Buble studio album.
Anyway, great performance as usual, hope you enjoy the rest of your time in the UK. Regards to the rest of the boys. Hope to shake your hand one day.

04.28.06 | Sharon Walters Just wanted to say a quick hello from the Alabama Gulf Coast. I flew to Tulsa to see Michael. I absolutely loved the show! YOU GUYS ROCK! OK, not rock, but you know what I mean. What an awesome show you guys do and I am partial to drummers because my 18 year old son is a drummer. We will both be at the show in Pensacola, Florida (A little closer to home!) on July 8th. I would like to send you a couple of pictures that I took at the show. I have a good one of you and Craig. Oh, and a good one of gorgeous Bryan Lipps playing the trumpet. What e-mail address can I send them too? I would love to meet you guys in Pensacola. Any chance?!
04.26.06 | Louise Marie The drummer makes the band. I have watched you play the drums with a hearty gusto. You can tell you enjoy what you do and the audience is thrilled with your professional presence.
I am a Cardiac Nurse from Rhode Island and attended the Michael Buble Concert when you toured Providence a month or so back. I loved your stage presence and way with music. I am a fan. i wont scream out of my seat or act all giddy as I am beyond that. I will just say I love your professionalism and enjoy attending concerts when the hospital gives me time off... In my line of work, it is a happy respite, relaxing, soothing, and sweet.
I wish you , the band and Michael all the good luck in the world on your tour. Be safe. Come back to Providence. We are waiting with open arms...:)
take care,
Louise Marie

04.20.06 | Laura Hi Robert,
My name is Laura and I'm from Spain. I saw you playing with Michael Bublé, last December in Barcelona, and I was really impressed. The "solo" of drums was brilliant!!!
By the way, my friend Carmen and I, had made the first MB web page in spanish: www.clubmichaelbuble.com. I'd like that you visit the web and give us your opinion.
Thank you a lot and excuse-me for my bad english.
Best wishes from Barcelona.

04.15.06 | Kim Ponder Hi Rob. Just found your sight today. Wanted to share with you that I have seen you with Michael in Atlanta and just this week in Raleigh.
My sister-in-law saw you for the very first time and made a comment that she thinks you are the best drummer she has ever heard in her life! We are in our upper 30s, so we have a little life experience. ;c)
All of us MB fans are there for Michael first and foremost, but please know that we know part of what makes him his very best is his fantastic band. You guys aren't backing him up, you are right there with him equally supporting and creating the music we all love to hear.
I was fortunate to win the Meet & Greet with him before the Raleigh show, and never got to tell him all that I really wanted to say. (I lost all sensibility.) One main thing is to tell the band how super they are and how much we all love and appreciate you guys as well!
My hubby (for the first time) will be at two shows with me in Madison, WI and Moline, IL this summer, so maybe we can say hello then. Much continued success!
Kim Ponder

I just want to say you are the best drummer I've ever had the pleasure of seeing in concert. My husband and I were at the Taft in Cincinnati and the show was awesome. I'm looking forward to Columbus next month. I didn't think it was possible to move that fast, your arms were a blur. Great skill and talent!

03.16.06 | Mimi Palmer Hey Rob---I just wanted to say hi and thank you for the great time in Chicago saturday. You were so sweet to take the time to talk with us old gals. LOL... I introduced my friend Bonnie and her daughter Lindsey to you guys and they are now big fans too!We had a blast hanging with you guys. You are so much fun. And truly truly talented!
Obviously we got interested in Michael thru his songs but after getting to know his music we realized it's not just Michael. It is all of you who make this great sound. Without you it would not be the same. So don't think its just an "ohhh that's a band member of Michaels" that attracts us. It's the great music you guys make together. I am so happy for you all that you have had your music heard worldwide. That has to be such an awesome feeling!
People who have seen you guys for the first time realize it's not just Michael but a wonderful band. I have heard tons of comments on the band. You guys should all be very proud.
Anyway thanks for the great time and have fun til we see you again!
Mimi
03.10.06 | Robin Grisel Hi Rob. Sorry I just came up to talk to you in line while you were waiting for dinner. I didn't even introduce myself first. Sorry about that. Thanks for taking the time to chat with us. I'm glad I had a chance to say "hello" and tell you how much I enjoyed the show.......your solo during the "Frank" piece is amazing!! I loved it. Great photos on here......I especially like the Eiffel tower.
Take care,
Robin
03.09.06 | Christina LaFontaine It was great to meet you and some of the band last night! The show was amazing. You guys are all extremely entertaining to listen to. I have to say, though, that hearing you all at the jazz club afterwards was probably the unexpected highlight of the night. We don't get to do that very often. Please let me know if and when you will be back in the Atlanta/Athens area. I would love to see another show (or jazz gig!). Hope the day off in Cincinnati has been enjoyable!
03.09.06 | Steve F. Hey Rob,
Dude, caught you channel surfin' back in November on the PBS special. You're 1 swinging cat! I need to learn some of those great chops!! Keep up the great work, see ya in
D-town.
Steve in Detroit
03.06.06 | Huey What's up? Nice Re do on the site. It rocks. Hey, update for you bro, Albany is sold out and Turning stone is close to being sold out. Nice work
03.06.06 | Tricia Rodio Hey Rob,
I just sent an email to the address on your resume. I was very interested and opened the file and saw an email address, so I figured I'd send you something. Anyway, the show last night at the Borgata was unbelievable. You guys are so GREAT and TALENTED! You were definitely born to do this. I think that I was too, but haven't had my break yet. I just turned 30 and thought that my time had past, but I look at all of you and realize that it's never too late. So I'm recording a demo this month. I sing in Atlantic City every weekend, usually at Bally's, Hilton, Sands, Trump Marina or the Tropicana. I live in PA and work in Philly for a marketing company and definitely know that this isn't what I'm supposed to be doing. Anyway, Good Luck to you and Best Wishes for a successful career! I'll be at the Albany concert on April 7th! Can't wait to see all of you. Hope there's a meet & greet. I'd love to shake your hand! Thanks!
03.06.06 | karen madonna so the other night i go to nyc to see michael buble. he introduces the drummer as mr. robert perkins. I say to myself, I had Robert Perkins as a students - could that be him? Sitting in the very last row of radio city, i focused my binoculars on you and said, hmm - that could be my robert perkins...you were truly amazing. I told the people i was with that it was possible you were one of my students, and one of the men said "he must have been playiing drums since he was a little kid". Today I googled you, saw no mention of KHS, did see something about USC, which is where I thought you went to college. Read your guestbook and saw a message from another one of my students - Anna Piskoz (great girl!). So, that was so cool to see you play up there - again, you are amazing!!! Please tell Ethan I said hi - he is somewhat of a legend here with the football boys because coach Loghlin always talks about how he walked on to the Michigan team....
Glad to know you are doing so well!
Ms. Madonna, your high school guidance counselor
03.03.06 | Josh Harsono I just watched "Caught In the Act" on PBS. Great performance! I realized there will be a show in my area towards the end of March and I tried to find tickets but they are VERY sold out! Hopefully I'll be able to find some...
Watching you play fueled my long time dream of drumming in a big band like that. Thanks for the inspiration. Hopefully I'll get to see you live!
02.23.06 | Joanie Miller Hi Rob......Love your website !! You and the rest of the band are great!! I got to see the show in Las Vegas and have tickets to see it again , when you get to Tulsa, Ok. 02.21.06 | Michelle Britt Hey Rob,
Well we had a great time in Las Vegas and I just wanted to tell you what a pleasure it was getting to see you live again. My daughters and I were going to get a picture with you after the show Sunday but you were already covered up with people and we were exhausted from shopping so we didnt wait around. Excellent job though. The concert was amazing. Good luck with the upcoming US tour. Hoping to get to catch it along the way somewhere.
Take care
Michelle from Nashville
02.20.06 | Laura Miles Hey Rob,

02.16.06 | London "Hollywood" Molina Rob, It was a pleasure meeting you at the Hilton Las Vegas on Valentines day after the show. As I stated that night, from one drummer to another.....You got it down tight. I've seen several drummers from Buddy Rich, (as I stated that night..Buddy was the first drummer I got to meet face to face...That cat was crazy!) to Steve Gadd and Dennis Chambers and the list goes on. I'm based out of the Phoenix for the past 12 years, all my roots are in LA and Hollywood. Born and rasied in LA. Go USC! I'm currently in a local band in Phoenix and put in some studio time on the side with other projects. The life we have as drummers. Great I say! My girlfriend and I will be catching your show on March 21 in Tuson Arizona. If you have free time maybe we can swap some more stories before or after the show. Give me a ring at 480-231-9169. Best regards! Take care. London-
02.15.06 | Katie Great job in Vegas & like the new 'do!
02.14.06 | Kerry MacDonald Ahoy and nice website! I love the internet.... good to see you here! I'm still in San Francisco and still doing the engineering thing, and apparently you're still up to the drum thing and doing better than ever!
02.12.06 | Sherri I just wanted to thank you so much for taking the time to come up and say hello to me in the "351 Club" after the concert in Niagara. I didn't run into you that day because you were in NY for the Today Show. And because your my favorite...it meant so much to me. I'm going to post some of the pictures on the fan board you answered for me last year, you have quite a sense of humor! When I asked you about having the perfect dream band and you answered Jesus, Mother Theresa, and Bob Marley...that was the best! My kind of humor. Anyway thanks again, Sherri from Michagan

02.05.06 | Will Brindley Rob,
I actually first started listening to your stuff when I got Michael Buble's Caught In The Act CD/DVD and saw you play. I've gotta be honest, being a drummer, I was just as impressed (if not more so) by you as I was by Michael. You've got some fantastic talent!
I've been a free lance drummer for about 10 years, totally self taught, doing mostly small time gigs, things of that nature. Any advice on whether to take some lessons or something to gain just some new techniques? I can imitate just about everything I hear played on a drum set, but obviously there is always more that can be learned in the realm of percussion. Just wanted your thoughts.
I've no doubt your probably pretty busy on tour with Michael, but I'd really appreciate hearing back from you! Thanks!
Will
02.05.06 | Garo hey rob. im at the moment watching the caught in the act DVD for like the 100000 time....YOUR A GOD....how do you swing that way? watching you i figured out a way to increase the intensity of the way i swing. tell me how you get that good apart from practice. Hopefully you come to Perth, Western Australia with MB!!!!!!!!!!

01.26.06 | Anne Hi,
I have a question about the tour dates listed on your website. I noticed that you will be in Detroit with Michael Buble on 4/15. I am a big fan so I called the venue this morning the see when tickets go on sales and I was told that there was no concert booked for that date. So is this date not yet confirmed? I was just wondering :) Thanks!
01.23.06 | Adria Hey Robert!
Just wanted to say hey and I think you're a great drumer. Love you with the Buble Band!! You're sounding good!

Adria
01.23.06 | Andrea Hi Rob, We met, briefly, in London at Michael's concert and I have to let you know that you are an amazing drummer. I've followed Michael for about 3 years now and you are, far and away, the absolute best drummer he's had in his band. And, you were so kind to come out afterwards and chat with fans. That is so incredibly generous of you and such a thrill for all us fans so thank you for doing that. It keeps us coming back for more and more. Looking forward to your concers in Mohegan Sun, NY, and Providence! Andrea
01.22.06 | Kristy Fitzgerald I want to say that your site looks great. I also have a question. I see that you have posted that you will be performing with Michael Buble in Ft. Worth at WIll Rogers. If at all possible could you email me and let me know for sure that you are going to be there. I've looked everywhere for tickets and also on the will rogers events calendar and it shows nothing about you being there on March 17th 2006. PLLLLLEEEEEEEEAAAASSSSEEE email me if you read this. I desperately need more information on the March 17th Performance with Michael Buble. I have no idea how to get tickets. Please let this be one of your right away responses haha. I'm desperate I'm begging you
01.22.06 | Izydor Centeno Hello R obert, love your site, could you please help me find a drum school where they teach specially Samba, Jazz, Rythm &Blues , whatever all types of music? I live in France in the southwest region near Toulouse and have been drumming with Dante Agostini (Toulouse) school for 4 years now and been drumming for a total of 11 years and wish to experience more daily drumming classes out of France. I was at your concert in Paris this past November with Michael Bublé and enjoyed every moment of it, "nice drums man"! Hope to hear from you soon,
IZY.

01.22.06 | Nancy Parvana Hi Rob,
Just wanted to say that I think you are a brilliant drummer and I must admit that sometimes I watch you more than Michael on stage! Rock on! :)
01.19.06 | Linda J. You really rock Robert! Without you and the rest of the band making a great beat together, I don't think Michael would sound as appealing. Well who am I kidding, he's super too! :P I love him regardless! Can't wait to see you and the boys at Michael's show again here in Texas and everywhere else! :) Keep up the hard work!
Love,
Linda Jeantet (zhahn-tay)

I think I need a nap. Have a great day!
01.05.06 | Michelle Britt Hi Robert,
My name is Michelle and I'm from Nashville. I just wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying Caught in the Act. You guys are so freaking talented. I am a huge fan of Michael's and got to see you all in concert this past summer here. I took my twin daughters for their 16th birthday. We had a blast. So much so that I figured I would bring them to see you in Vegas. We are very excited. Hopefully we'll get a chance to meet some of you. By the way....Michael is right. You do swing like a moo foo!!!! Take care. Love ya, Michelle

01.02.06 | Jared Romano Hey pal, we have met one other time before in LA. I am the nyc transplant, yamaha guy. We talked for abit. I am a drummer out in good ole LA. Working on starting up the old pop career. I am playing with Ryan Cabrera and Andrew Ripp west coast, and 2 other artists on east coast. But, just wanted to say hey... and that I have been really enjoying your work. Your Buble work is huge. Its nice to see people play with a professional sense of reserve. Your not too busy, but definitely getting the job done with taste. It's all about the pocket, as you know. But, if your ever out in LA anytime soon, feel free to give me a ring. Take care pal.

You actually answered our questions for that site, thank you sooo much. HELLLPPPPPPP!!! We need to have music that is compeletly your own, not "BUBLE" related. We can't get it from your site, it won't let us. Each one of you has a music section on the board that has your " own" music. Please help us find some... We don't care if we have to buy it, we just don't know where to go to get it. You have many fans, we are just trying to get you more. Lyman and Jason have sent us cds and we had a contest to win them. Fans bought them for Christmas gifts. We would like to do the same for you. Please help us with this project.. Your Fan Carol Haas (aka) madame buble
12.25.05 | Michael Rittenhouse Hi Robert, I am a 47 year old man living in NY. I played drums when I was 15 for about a year and had to give them up. I've since got married and raised children but always had the love of drumming in the back of my mind. Now that my children are grown and gone (the wife too), I got myself a kit and fell in love all over again. I'm taking lessons from Sandy Gennaro here on Staten Island. I don't know if you've heard of him but he's played with Cyndi Lauper and others. I had the good fortune of seeing Michael Buble's DVD and watched you intently. I think you're an awesome drummer and I want to tell Sandy to teach me to play like you! Of course I'm not serious. I want to have my own style. Again, I just wanted to say Thank You and I appreciate your talent.
Michael
12.24.05 | silvia Ciao Robert!

12.18.05 | Alanna Price Hey,
I just wanted to say wow, you're an amazing drummer. I'm in jazz band at my school and have heard quiet a few great drummers in our travels, and you are one of the best drummers I've heard; makes me wish I could play drums. I was wondering If there was any where that I could buy the song "Bye Bye Butterfly", cause I just love it. Thanks
Alanna

12.16.05 | Leisa Evans Saw and listened to the Michael Buble show last night at Cardiff CIA. The show was a hit. You were fantastic! Congratulations on the performance.
12.12.05 | Efa Etoroma, Jr. Hey Robert, I just finished watching the Michael Buble special (featuring Josh Groban and Chris Botti) on KSPS and I was totally blown about by the cohesiveness between you and the bassist. I was just curious as to what you do to lock in with a bassist in a big band situation? (perhaps, feathering the bass drum, etc.)Also I was wondering what cymbals you used for that show, and if you read charts or memorized the whole show? Thanks so much. Keep up the AWESOME playing! Peace -Efa-
12.06.05 | Michael Linden Dear Robert,
I witnessed your performance with Michael Buble in Dusseldorf, Germany tonight.. Just wanted to take a minute to thank you for a great show and some fine playing that I watched with great pleasure. It was amazing to see these swing grooves played with such ease and grace. I'm still trying to master some of them myself, and I'm thankful for the inspiration you gave me this evening.
Regards,
Michael

11.27.05 | Ryan Tremblay Hey Rob!
Ryan Tremblay here! I am a musician (drummer/percussionist) from Coventry, Rhode Island and I am currently a freshman at Rhode Island College.
If you would like to learn more about my music career, please feel free to visit my website: rtremblay.com. Media files from a recent recording session will be posted very soon!
I plan on transferring in the fall of 2006 to a music school; however, I was wondering if you had any advice as to which music schools/music scenes I should check out. The main Universities that I had in mind were University of Miami and University of North Texas, but I would greatly appreciate any type of feedback you could give me so I could perhaps add to the list of possible schools.
You sound great man! It's a true inspiration to hear you play. Congrats on the DW endorsement! I hope to hear from you soon...
All the best,
Ryan Tremblay
